Acea Group's commitment towards sustainability
In its strategies, Acea which is involved in the industrial management of networks and services of general economic interest - takes into account the three spheres which make its business activities sustainable:
- economic responsibility (generating profit);
- corporate responsibility (guaranteeing quality services, developing internal expertise, creating opportunities for upstream and downstream activities);
- environmental responsibility (protecting natural resources and managing the associated impacts).
The value-related principles which guide the management of the business, are laid down in the Group's Ethical Code , adopted in 2004 and reviewed in 2012.
A corporate governance model based on the separation between the policy, management and audit activities, capable of ensuring accountability and balance, and formalised management systems according to international benchmarks standards, are among the main instruments which help the company to operate responsibly.
The Sustainability Report, published yearly and which can be consulted on-line, describes and quantifies the Group performances and bears witness to its commitment vis-à-vis the parties concerned. Within the Sustainability Objectives, which are consistent with the growth lines indicated in the Business Plan, Acea highlights the challenges, the prospects and the action undertaken.
