Acea Ato 5 for the community

We are committed to managing water in an efficient and sustainable manner to ensure the best possible service across the territory.

World Water Day

Acea Ato 5 manages the Integrated Water Service for 86 municipalities within Ato 5 Frosinone, serving 489,000 citizens. On the occasion of World Water Day, Ace Ato 5 is actively committed to creating value for its people and community. Such commitment results in a careful management of the water cycle, with targeted investments and innovative solutions that preserve water quality, protect the environment, and safeguard the future of our planet as well.

In line with this commitment, we visited 8 high schools to encourage a conscious use of water resources and share common actions to be taken.
It is vital to understand that, using water consciously, we can actually make a difference to ensuring a sustainable future for everyone, together.

Purification

The water sites managed by Acea Ato 5 – including supply sources, distribution plants, sewage lifting stations and purification plants – are partially equipped with remote control systems, which enable remote telemetry, command and control, as well as the detection of hydraulic (water flow rate, network pressure, tank level, operating status of electric pumps), electrical and qualitative (turbidity and residual chlorine) parameters.
By the end of 2023, remote control systems were installed in 457 plants (equipped with hydraulic measurements such as "flow rate, pressure and level"). Of these 16 were also equipped with a water quality system, and 153 were network points with continuous pressure or flow monitoring).

In 2023, about 119,229 analytical determinations were carried out. The analyses and controls performed by Acea Ato 5 ensure the quality of water.

Districting and leakage detection

We are progressively districting all our managed water networks. The activity involves dividing the water network in homogeneous distribution districts, in which the injected and supplied water volumes are measured, and the operating pressures are monitored. This approach enables more efficient operation of the water network by continuously monitoring the main variables that characterise its management and allowing for quickly interventions in the event of anomalies. Acea Ato 5 has districted the networks for 9 new municipalities and upgraded the existing districts to balance the network operation and optimise the distribution service. Moreover, the active control of pressures was maintained through the installation of meters, reducers and regulating valves at strategic points.
In 2023, the interventions helped to reduce water leakage to 63.8% (compared to 64.3% in 2022).
