Climate change is disrupting the water cycle, significantly impacting water availability and distribution. To address these challenges, Acea and Intesa Sanpaolo have joined forces to promote a new cultural approach to sustainable water resource utilization.
The first publication by the Observatory focuses on wastewater reuse, a crucial strategy for the country’s future. By recovering resources, wastewater treatment plants can become the core of a circular water model, improving water efficiency and fostering reuse.
The second publication focuses on the challenge of water in agriculture in the 3rd millennium, the impact of climate change on its availability and resilience strategies for the sector, with the aim of implementing sustainable practices and ensuring a fairer, more efficient, and responsible management of water resources.
The third publication focuses on the water-energy nexus and its implications for sustainable development. The report examines in depth the impact of climate change and the energy transition on resource availability, identifying innovative strategies and solutions to increase the efficiency, resilience, and security of water and energy systems.
Acea Research & Studies is the Research Center of Acea dedicated to the development of analyses and research on the resilient and sustainable management of water and energy resources.
