For over 20 years, Acea has been engaging local schools through educational and interactive activities dedicated to protecting water resources and the environment.
Through the "Acea Scuola Water Education" project, implemented as part of the three-year Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education and Merit and aimed at primary and lower-secondary school students, Acea promotes a culture of water reuse, recycling and recovery.
Upon completion of the educational programmes, students will also have the opportunity to take part in a prize competition by producing a short film on the theme of water and to visit Acea plants.
More than 11,000 students took part in person in previous editions of Acea Scuola, while over 25,000 participated in the digital editions.
The project has evolved over time, reaching an increasingly large number of students thanks to an educational format that uses multimedia tools such as videos, quizzes and learning pathways that illustrate and explain the world of water, energy, and environmental sustainability, while also addressing the challenges of water and energy conservation.
During the 2024-2025 school year, the "Acea Scuola Water Education" project involved over 22,000 students from primary and lower-secondary schools in Lazio, Campania, Umbria, Tuscany, Molise and the Aosta Valley.
Through its scientific and interactive approach, this edition of Acea Scuola guided students on a true journey into the world of water: from water protection to historical background and interesting facts on the subject, through to good everyday practices for saving and recycling this precious resource.
Upon completion of the programme, participating schools had the opportunity to explore the topics covered in greater depth through guided tours of Acea plants in their respective regions.
