Fabrizio Palermo was reappointed Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Acea on 3 June 2026, having served as Chief Executive Officer of the company since 26 September 2022.
Between July 2018 and May 2021, he served as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, having previously held the role of Chief Financial Officer from 2014.
He joined the Fincantieri Group in 2005, where he went on to hold a series of increasingly senior positions: initially as Director of Business Development and Corporate Finance, then as Chief Financial Officer (2006-2014) and, from 2011, also as Deputy General Manager.
From 1998, he pursued his career at McKinsey & Company, specialising in restructuring, transformation and turnaround projects for major industrial and financial groups. Before moving to McKinsey, he had started out at Morgan Stanley in London, within the Investment Banking Division.
His career also includes a number of governance and industry association roles. Since 2025, Fabrizio Palermo has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Generali Group, where he chairs the Related-Party Transactions Committee and is a member of the Investment Committee. He is also a member of the General Council of Confindustria and Unindustria Lazio, the Listed Companies Committee of Utilitalia and the Board of Directors of Elettricità Futura.
Over the course of his career, he has also served as Chairman of CDP Equity S.p.A., Chief Executive Officer of CDP Reti S.p.A. and a member of the Boards of Directors of Open Fiber S.p.A., Fincantieri S.p.A., Fincantieri USA Inc., Vard Group AS and Vard Holdings Limited. He has also been a member of the governing body of Assonime and of the Board of Directors of Centro Studi Americani, as well as Co-Chair of the Italy-China Business Forum.
Since 2022, he has been an Adjunct Professor on the MBA programme at Luiss Guido Carli University, where he teaches Corporate Finance. He had previously taught at the same university as an Assistant Professor on the Planning and Control course from 2007 to 2010 and as an Adjunct Professor on the MBA programme for Corporate Finance in 2018.
In 2019, he was appointed Commendatore dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana (Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic), on the recommendation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
Fabrizio Palermo graduated with honours in Economics and Business from Sapienza University of Rome.
