18 May 2026

330 students from four regions: Lazio, Umbria, Campania and Molise

Istituto Galilei in Rome and Istituto Marconi in Nocera Inferiore (Salerno) were named winners of the ninth edition of Acea’s school-to-work training programme, “GenerAzioni per il Futuro” (“GenerAtions for the Future”)
, dedicated to training and guiding young people towards the world of work. The 2026 prize-giving ceremony took place today. Developed in collaboration with ELIS and building on previous programmes, the project has involved more than 2,500 students over the years. This year in particular, around 330 fourth- and fifth-year students from eleven secondary schools across four regions where the Group operates - Lazio, Umbria, Campania and Molise - took part.

The project wrapped up with the presentation of innovative and sustainable solutions developed by students, which were assessed by a jury of Acea managers and experts for their originality and feasibility. The awards were presented by Emiliano Ranati, Acea Chief People & Security Officer. The winners were the fifth-year students of ITIS Galilei in Rome, with a prototype of a smart streetlight pole, and the fourth-year students of IIS Guglielmo Marconi in Nocera Inferiore, who were recognised for the project “Hydrorobot”, designed to detect hidden underground water leaks using a small robotic device.

The “Generazioni per il futuro” programme gave students the opportunity to engage directly with Acea companies operating in their local areas, helping them gain a deeper understanding of the companies and their respective businesses. Fourth-year students participated in the “Challenge Lab”, where they tackled real-life challenges and problems using project management methodologies. Fifth-year students, meanwhile, participated in the Prototyping Lab, developing a prototype based on the idea presented during last year’s challenge.

“Generazioni per il Futuro” is fully aligned with Acea’s social policies aimed at supporting the education of younger generations by providing them with effective tools to make informed career choices upon completing their studies.
