“Gocce di Cinema” (“Drops of Cinema”), the film series curated by Fondazione Cinema per Roma, returns with a programme inspired by the theme of water
This year, Acea is bringing back the “I Mille Volti dell’Acqua” (“The Thousand Faces of Water”) short film competition, with the theme “La via dell’acqua: dalla depurazione al mare” (“The Journey of Water: From Treatment to the Sea”), in collaboration with the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia
The Acea stand at the Auditorium Parco della Musica will welcome visitors and guests of the film festival with a “Blu Carpet” (“Blue Carpet”)
Acea supports the 21st Rome Film Fest, placing water at the heart of its presence at the event and aiming to raise public awareness of the need to safeguard this precious resource.
Following the great success of previous years, the new edition of the Gocce di Cinema film series, curated by Fondazione Cinema per Roma, will return with a selection of films in which the theme of water features in various forms and is portrayed through the language of cinema from ecological, naturalistic, cultural, artistic and dreamlike perspectives.
The “I Mille Volti dell’Acqua” short film competition is also back. Promoted by Acea in collaboration with the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the competition is open to previously unreleased short films that explore the theme of water through fiction, documentary or animation, in line with the company’s sustainability strategies. The theme of the 2026 edition is “La via dell’acqua: dalla depurazione al mare”. A jury of Acea representatives and critics from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia will select the best short film. On 13 October, the opening day of the event, it will be screened at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. The winning filmmaker will receive the Premio Speciale Gruppo Acea (“Acea Group Special Award”) and a €5,000 contribution.
Finally, Acea will set up a stand at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, where a range of activities will take place, and visitors will have the opportunity to watch the short films competing in the I Mille Volti dell’Acqua competition. Visitors will reach the stand by walking along a carpet inspired by the colours of water: a “Blu Carpet”, intended to draw attention to the importance of water resources.
